Space and Form
Architecture is often the negotiation between solid form and voided space. This project focused on the dynamic relationship between solid form and voided space, a fundamental aspect of architecture. The aim was to explore two key relationships: one between concept and object, and the other between form and space, both of which were essential in shaping how buildings were designed and experienced.

Solid and Void
We used Tony Smith’s sculpture Cigarette (1961) as a tool in combination of any techniques to create a 3D object from a solid rectangular prism.

By employing mirroring and rotating techniques, I formed a structure that generated spatial depth both on the surface and internally. This process allowed the voids to interact with the solid form in dynamic ways, creating a balance of tension and composition as the shape evolved.

Transforming the object into space through site and program, the introduction of stairs created a connection between the surrounding environment and the public spaces within the building. The goal was to go beyond traditional circulation, turning the stair sequence into an active public space that seamlessly blended into the urban environment, enhancing the overall experience of the site."

Circulation
I used the external voids to form the stairs and the internal voids to create openings for light and views, enhancing the experience of the space throughout the structure. The mirroring and rotational dynamics of these voids resulted in two staircases that spiraled around the entire building, each reflecting the other. This interplay of voids transformed the circulation into a dynamic journey, engaging both the body and the senses in a continuous flow of spatial discovery.
